Purpose: Matt. 25 :36 ...I was in prison, and you came to visit me.
We became involved in 1995 when Bro. Miller invited us to speak to some of the mandarin speaking inmates. At first we went on an irregular basis but the Lord put the burden on our hearts and we became fully involved.
We spent 3 mornings each week ministering to ten inmates and the Lord gave us privilege to see the fruit of our labour
In Matthew 25:31-46, Jesus makes it clear that God’s people are to feed the hungry, welcome the stranger, clothe the naked and visit the prisoner. Then He says that such acts of mercy are done to Him. When we minister to prisoners it is as if we were ministering to Christ Himself.
Prison ministry isn’t easy. Prisoners need unconditional love and acceptance. But prison ministry is a challenge that volunteers will find rewarding. As it is often said. “You always have the sense that though you are going to prison to minister, you are being ministered to about tenfold more”.
Call us if you want to get involved.
